Cool! I've been trying to decide which telephoto prime I want to get. When you get your 135 post a picture up here to show off the quality. Please? :-)

Not a problem...I don't expect to be able to match some of the excellent examples in the 135L archive thread, but I'll definitely hunt around for a duck or something.

I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the Canon telephoto primes. Just choose your FL and speed.

You will really like the 135 for the performing arts. When you can get up close you can get some awesome quality tight shots. I like to shoot individual performers and capture the facial expressions.

Enjoy,
Chuck

Well, this is a used lens from BH. It came with no box and the date code is K - 1996...but whatever. I did a really quick focus test and it looks like it's backfocussing...so I'll have to look into that and decide what to do. Color and contrast are great though...and the bokeh...wow! Here are a couple quick shots at f/2 (i'm on my lunch break).

I don't know what do you guys think? It is in focus, but right on the edge. Is it unacceptable or am I whining about nothing?
I took my chance on the used lens they had...I'm tempted just to call up BH and have them overnight me a new one. One thing is for sure...I hope to have a long history with this lens (the 135L i mean).

Well, I think I am going to send this one back, for peace of mind if nothing else. I can have a brand new one by Friday morning...less $116. So...I guess I can survive for one more evening. For an 11 year old lens with a slight back focusing issue...it's not too shaby.
