First 2 a bit dark and looks as if you are missing the focus point on the eyes.

#3 for me too. I do not have a TC, so I was wondering if it is to dark when you set the camera to a F8.0 to get focus and that is why you were using F5.6 and F7.1?

I was trying to keep my shutter speed up above 125 and in order to had gotten an exposure that wasn't blown out or underexposed I was adjusting the exposure via my aperature. would this be a wrong way of doing this?

No I am not trying to say that it is wrong, I am trying to learn all this myself. I was just curious, I have been doing most of my bugging at F8.0 or F11.0 with a shutter speed up around 200 or just slower with a 430EX attached to a 7" Delta Bracket and have (at least in my opinion) been getting pretty good results. So it was just me being curious as to why you were doing it the way you did it, so maybe I can get some more incite.
