I dont know how you could have been missing it lol. j/w, but what does "cream of the crop" mean? Did you win some competition?

It has something to do with your post count and nothing to do with dairy products or how good your photographic skills are. I don't watch my post count and I'm always surprised when I happen to see what it is.

The way I see it, the higher it is, the less of a life you have.

With a handle like AlphaChicken, I'm surprised you haven't been in the Birds forum yet. It's a madhouse over there. ;)

I shoot every day, 400 to 1000 shots and I post some every day it seems. It's a busy place. And I'm almost retired, what else is there to do? LOL

Ehh no contest for me. The only contest is one against myself. Before I post I say to myself: "No matter how much you want to keep your post count up Alpha, you mustn't post useless words."

So my contest is to keep my post count as high as possible while still satisfying my rule ;-)a

That is maybe the second or third best lens for birds. You have to get close to little birds and do a lot of croppage, even then. Don't get into the mind set that with a 500L/4 you can sit on the porch and shoot birds down by the river. It just doesn't work that way. Even with a 500L you still need to get within 40 or 50 feet to get a decent image of a small bird. ;)

And this is how my post count went up. LOL

The trick is to get them to come to you. If your interested in shooting birds, I can give you some secrets that will bring them right to your yard. ;)

I'll go have a look.

Thanks Lisa. I think I got lucky. I feel like a total noob when shooting people. :)
