UK Kingfisher with lunch.

Worth the wait of nearly 3 hours when the female landed with her lunch,the fish was still alive but not for long,she repeatedy wacked it against the branch with bits of the fish flying off everywhere,she did`nt swallow it either, but just flew off around the bend not to be seen again.

Good shots ... chances are that you should watch that spot and she will be back ... she is most probably feeding young ones and this is a "whacker" spot.

Thanks for the comments all,the pair often use this branch as a stop off before going back to the nest,weather permitting and a pass out off the boss and i will be there tomorrow.

fantastic shot carlton im very gelouse as the kingfisher i normaly get shot from got washed out again this year so ill have to wait again now.

I'd spend a bit more time with my local Kingfishers but its so dark where they fish i think i need a faster lens!

I really like the action of the second one with fish scales and water flying through the air.
