Ok, I'm fairly new with Pro Show and I think I might understand what's going on here. I need help to get through it though.

I make a new show. Set the motion effects to randomize across all slides. Set transitions to randomize as well. I preview the show. I see a few spots where the motion effects cut a little too deep into the pic and chop heads off and such. I then go in and adjust those individual slides to correct the problem. I preview the show again - everything looks great.

I burn to show to DVD. I pop it in the DVD player and watch it on my TV. It looks horrible. It's like everything has expanded. Lots of chopped off heads.

Ok, I think what's happening here is I notice when I adjust the motion effects there is a semi-transparent mask on the top and bottom of the frame. I'm guessing this might be showing where the boundaries for TV are? Seems logical. So the question is - How do I keep the motion effects inside those parameters without hand adjusting each slide? The randomization seems to ignore them. Is there a way I can set a preference somewhere to randomize motion for DVD output?

I'm a little frustrated here and I need to drop off this DVD tomorrow night. What's the best way to go about solving this problem? Heeeelp:confused:

I think your images are to big, on dvd slideshow software there is normally a safe working area displayed in the viewing area, to stop your images from being chopped off.

I'm not 100% as I have not used that software.

there's a setting in proshow to "fit to safe zone" which will resolve this when viewing your slideshow on a TV. That transparent mask is indeed the safe area and if you want your images to show correctly on a TV this is the maximum area your TV will show. If you don't want to view on a TV, you can safely use the whole area.

Also if you are viewing on a 16:9 TV you need to burn the video as a 16:9 show. Anything else will stretch your video and you'd need to maybe set your TV to 4:3 to view correctly.
These settings are in the menus.

There's a yahoo group on both proshow and it's big brother producer, at Yahoo Groups. Do a search you'll find it. That's a more appropriate place for pro show questions, because there are more knowledgeable people generally there (insofar as proshow and producer are concerned) than here on POTN.

Hope this helps you.:D

Proshow is the name of the software and there are 2 variants. Proshow Gold is generally for home use and Proshow Producer is for pro use. Both excellent at producing slide shows.

THIS site below is the place you should hang around for a while. These folks are THE BEST.....!
http://www.proshowenthusiasts.com/ (external link) The Yahoo groups have a lot of the same folks too, but this forum is MUCH more in depth. They readily share a wealth of information and member created files to use with the ProShow applications. Come to think of it.....a lot like this forum we're on right now .....
