littleman23408: I don't have the original hood for the 300, and even then don't use my homemade PVC pipe solution too often as I mostly shoot indoor events. If I'm shooting outside, I'll take the gear I need in a backpacking-specific backpack anyway!

dahl: Thanks! I'll try to get pics of the other bags tomorrow.

crazyskillz07: Hope it helps! For what it's worth, here's another configuration, this time with a 400 2.8 in addition to the 300. I've never tried the LowePro but with several very positive experiences with Think Tank bags, I buy their stuff based on description alone. :D (I tried a few LowePro bags several years ago and found them over-padded and generally awkward to use.)

Also, the Artificial Intelligence 15 laptop sleeve that comes with the bag slides neatly into the outside stretch pocket. However, like this it won't classify as an airline carry-on so I leave the sleeve at home most of the time. My laptop and other accessories go into the Urban Disguise 50, which conveniently appears designed for a 15" Macbook Pro and various odds and ends.

Let me know if you need some other pics of various configurations of the bag or any of my other bags and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Rafal!

Doesn't seem to be much representation of Think Tank on here, so here's my introduction:

Think Tank Airport Acceleration. Contents pretty much self-explanatory (with the labels). About 40lbs as loaded. Great bag. Shoulder straps are comfortable enough for a couple hours of walking - the waist belt definitely helps in this regard!

The bag fits comfortably under aircraft seats and I'm never even given so much as a second glance because it looks quite small when shouldered.

The rest of my bag arsenal includes Think Tank: Urban Disguise 50, Change-Up, Digital Holster 50, Lens Changer 50, Chimp Cage, Artificial Intelligence 15; and Domke J-2 and F-803.

Awesome thanks heaps! Im considering this bag alot now. Do you reckon it could hold:
1x 1D MkII
1x 40D with Grip
1x 17-35 f2.8 L + hood reversed
1x 24-70 f2.8 L + hood reversed
1x 70-200 f2.8 L + hood reversed
1x 85 f1.8 + hood reversed
1x 1.4 TC (Stacked on top of 85 maybe?)
1x 100 f2.8 Macro
1x 300 f2.8 IS L + hood reversed
2x 580EX IIs (Stacked like yours maybe?)
2x CPE4 Battery Packs, Maybe where your 430EX is?

Also any chance of pics of your other bags (Especialy UD50, Domke J2 and F803)

I think it would easily fit with wiggle room to spare. Let's say for ease of argument that you used the exact same layout I have, so the only changes would be:

- 17-35 instead of 17-40. They're more or less the same size, it'll fit. Reversing the hood takes a lot of space so I usually put it under the 24-70 as the hoods are about the same diameter. Since I have a slot empty (waiting to be filled with PWs), I just stuck the hood there for now.

- 100 2.8 Macro instead of my Sigma 150 2.8 Macro. The Sigma has a tripod collar around it, so eliminating that would probably free up enough space that once you moved the divider over a bit and took out the 1D battery, you could probably fit the 85 1.8 stacked on top of 1.4x beside the 100. But, keep in mind you want to have an evenly balanced bag so for the sake of argument, let's just assume you leave the dividers as-is and just put your 100 in place of my 150.

- the two CP-E4s should fit under the 70-200. There's lots of space under there and not putting anything under that lens just wastes a lot of space. To give you an idea of the depth of the bag, you can stand a 580EX vertically and it'll just barely stick above the dividers. Once you close the bag, it's not a problem. I used to stack the 430EX, 580EX and 580EX II on top of each other, lying flat. Then I found the space under the zoom!

- that little area where the two 580s are, the TCs and lots of empty space could easily be reconfigured to hold your two 580s, the 1.4 and 85 1.8. I'd tilt down the flash heads so the two flashes make an L-shape which would result in a square-ish package, giving you some more room for the 85 1.8 and its hood.

All in all, it's almost the exact same amount of gear that I have so I see no problems with it not fitting. Keep in mind the bag ships with a ton of various dividers so you can really figure out a set-up you like. Took me a good couple hours to sort it out the first time; I've changed it around 2 or 3 times since then as I come up with new ideas.

I'll try to grab some pics of the other bags but my schedule is pretty filled for the next couple weeks. I'll see if I can grab some with my usual configurations.

For what it's worth, I loved my Domke bags until I discovered TT. For a PJ, the Domkes are great as they were always body-hugging and yet very capacious. Now, I find that my UD50 is about the same size as the J-2 but fits a lot more gear, is more comfortable and compresses almost as well. I just use my Domke bags now for transporting all the 'support' gear: chargers, cables, hard drives, extra batteries, cleaning stuff go into the J-2 and lighting-related junk like reflectors, cables, tape, etc. into the satchel. Of course, all of this travels by car so it's not a big deal I have a million bags. When flying though, the UD50 and Airport Acceleration are a dream set-up for me - I'll take pics of this set-up next week when I'm flying around! :)

Awesome thanks, And yes i forgot the 3PXs but they should fit where you have the hood and CF cards now. Time to get the bag :P

Hi folks,

Some great set up bags.
Helps many to choose the right bag for them.
And that's what I always do, read around, and look at user's photos how they put their gear inside.

Below my Lowepro NOVA 5, thought planning to change it for FlipSide 300.

Bit oldish configuration.
Below you see EOS 350D+grip with Sigma attahced to it.
Then 50mm, and 70-200 F/4 USM L, L lens hood, blower and other accessories below it, tumax flashgun.

350D got replaced by 40D+grip, Sigma replaced by new Sigma 20-40mm, 50mm has gone out, 70-200mm f/4 L USM replaced by IS version (collar mount the same as below), and Tumax replaced by 430EX.

New gear fits in nicely too. Although dividers are now set up differently (dont have new photo) all fits in nicely.

Front pocket filled out with AA batteries, canon charger, all-in-one card reader, lens caps etc.

And inside the inner pocket (zipped) cloths for cleaning the gear and separate one for the lens/glass, video, usb and charger cables.

The outer pocket (on the cover) holds winter gloves - easy and fast access when you need them.

What I like in a bag (any cam bag) is the possibility to configure the dividers so that I can keep the body with a tele-lens attached to it, without having to replace the tele with wide angle lens and then being able to put it away in the bag.
