I don't normally keep them in there. Unfortunately, last time I was flying the camera bag wasn't big enough so I had to stuff the bag inside a bigger backpack to have some room for the rest of my stuff. ![]() The DPP and Sandisk Recovery discs are in case I need to install it on a computer while I'm wherever I'm going. I'll be going to New Zealand soon to dad's printing factory where they have computers I can use but they don't all have software for viewing .CR2 files. As far as I'm aware, you can't download the DPP software, apart from updates to an already installed program. The USB cable and card reader are pretty much the same reason as above. Not all the computers will have card readers in them. I use my backpack as a travel bag sometimes. So it's more convenient to have it all in one bag, rather than stuffing it in my pockets or carrying it separately. I put the charger in my suitcase because there won't be much chance to charge the batteries during a flight. ![]() I got a Lowepro Fastpack 250 in the post today. I mainly wanted something to hold my camera gear plus a bit extra for travelling. It seems to be exactly what I wanted. Plenty of space left in the camera compartment, room for my laptop and a decent sized compartment on top for things like toiletries, DS, iPod etc.Late Edit: Lowepro Fastpack 250 It looks quite small in these pictures but it isn't.
Most of my gear. There's a teleconverter under the 50mm on the right.
iPod fits perfectly in the pocket on the left. Plenty of room for general stuff like toiletries and the DS for travelling.
Laptop compartment. I wasn't sure if my laptop would fit. It has a 15.4" screen but the case measures 17" corner to corner. Kind of confusing when the next bag size up is for 17" laptops. I went into Jessops with my laptop to try it out before I bought it and all was well.

I need room for the Canon 5d with 24-105 attached, 35L and the 70-200 F2.8 or 100-400. I think it will be a close one with the 100-400 but hopefully the 350 can handle that. Will fit that fine in the 350. Here are all the photos of what i have stuffed in mine (or can have stuffed in it). Carp - flickr

Standing them up on end makes all the USM fluid run down. Hmmm...so the fluid will be on one side. Oh wait, I get it. You have to turn them 90 degrees every 48 hours - same thing you do with your wine bottle collection, right? BoKo

For example, the front pocket unfolds for the tripod, and doesn't have any other use. Works well with my Manfrotto tripod though: And it also has a laptop pocket. I would recommend for extreme conditions, otherwise it is overkill. Canon 50D w/ 28-135is, 70-200L f4, 50mm 1.8II, Tamron 17-50, 430EXII flash

It'll also take a 100-400 on the camera and it's wide enough to take the hood... Looks like they've updated the stitching too so it's even better looking. My only gripe with mine is the lid gets annoying with a zipper AND 3 clips... That and the way the strap is attached, it gets annoying having it twist w/o a swivel. But yeah, the size of it is perfect. I'd just rework the strap and the lid and it'd be perfect. At first I wasn't too fond of the lid but I've grown to like it. If you're constantly in-and-out of your bag the large flap makes it nice to just close the lid (without ziping or buckling) and not have to worry about debris/water getting in. Or sometimes if i want a little security I'll just buckle the main, center buckle. I rarely buckle AND zipper it, I usually just zipper it when I'm out-and-about.
