been wanting to get a Domke, does it come with adjustable/removeable dividers like the crumpler million dollar series?

My F3X comes with one small divider and is padded on the bottom of the bag only, very unlike the well-padded Crumpler 7MDH which I had previously but had since sold off. Of course, you can buy inserts from Domke depending on your model or simply salvage your very own dividers from other bags ;P

My F3X Ruggedwear--like the one you showed in your message--has 2 pouches within the bag, 1 at each end. There is a small divider with velcro attached that spans the gap. I don't use that. I don't have an insert in my F3X. I carry my dslr (d300s with grip attached) with 18-200VR mounted. I put my 70-300VR in one of the pouches. Carry a flash when I need to in one of the end pockets.
I insert my camera on its side in the middle, not like the photo you have copied. That's what works for me. My retailers don't carry the inserts. Bless them. I'm supposed to know what works with what.

For me the pad shown in another post is essential. It's a Domke Postal Pad, and it helps distribute the load, and helps keep the strap on my shoulder. I have one on my Billingham Hadley Digital, and my Maxpedition Colossus. It's a great accessory; wish it came with all Domke shoulder bags.

I have trouble identifying Domke bags and inserts. And the retailers here don't know them. That's why Jon's posts are so helpful to me.

I now have two:
Got this one for Christmas - Combo work and work/photography travel bag (so I can get to a single bag plus carry-on): Custom Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger (Large) in Black/Olive waxed canvas:

Holding all of this: (I probably wouldn't take this much, but nice to know I could)

Just got this yesterday as a dedicated camera bag (so I don't have to unpack the work stuff from the other one): Timbuk2 Snoop Messenger (Medium)

I wrote several blog posts on these two and the Snoop insert they use - I'll warn you they aren't short ;). The net is I like these a lot.

They are also on crazy-good sale (45%+ off) until tomorrow, if I understand it right (at least the Snoop bag is - if that sale was running when I got the first bag I might not have gone the custom route, though it is a nice bag...).

I am so liking these Billinghams ... like a drug or something ... just can't stop looking at yet another one to replace something I already have. I guess you don't realize how nice they are until you actually own one. So nice to have NO zippers and NO velcro!

Yep, that is probably the second best thing about Billingham bags that I can think of. The first? Build quality! Many people complain about how expensive they are (and they are, no argument here), but if you buy the right Billingham for you, it will literally outlast you! Unless you drag it behind a car for the heck of it, or something like that. ;)

I have used just about everything over the years - Lowepro, Tenba, Tamrac, Delsey, Domke, and even some no-name brands. I was even happy with some of them... for a time. I actually wore out a few Lowepro bags over the years, so I must have liked them enough at the time. They all eventually either broke or proved to be less useful than I thought they would be... with the exception of Billingham, Domke and Pelican (hard cases). So I have culled my bag collection to a few Billingham and a couple of Domkes (might keep one Lowepro backpack, but probably won't), and the only other thing I put my gear in are Pelican cases, for when I need extreme protection.

Billingham bags are the most weatherproof soft camera bags that I have used, and they don't need an "all weather cover" to do it. A Billingham is an "all weather bag", simple as that! :) (Disclaimer: I have never used any of the Lowepro waterproof backpacks). Surprisingly, Domke bags are also very good in this regards, just nowhere near as good as Billingham, but then Billingham are built in England (and we all know what the weather is like over there... :p ).

So yes, they are expensive. But they are also very, very good!

Anyone know of a bag to carry a 5Dc gripped + 24-70 and the 60D gripped with a 70-200 f4 attached? Lens hood in shooting position if possible. I don't need to carry anything else, currently I use the crap outta my Flipside 300 and love it but can only accommodate 1 body at a time. :S

yes. everything but the top. i've gone through 5 bags but i'm really liking this now. i might get a postal pad from domke, though. i'm thinking about waxing the fabric to make it a bit water resistant just in case. :)

I'm thinking of selling my DIY Messenger bag for something else but here's a thought, maybe enclose that inner insert with a plastic baggy that wraps all the way around? It might help but I never done that waxing technique before. I'm always on a search for a new bag. LOL

yeah, i suppose i could just do the baggy thing but i had a domke for a little while and i really liked the way it felt. :) i returned it because i couldn't really justify another bag when i had all i needed already. if i sell a few lenses and a few bags, perhaps i can look at buying another.

See my bag above your post. Lowpro Trekker 450 I think. Holds my 1D3 and 5D5 with 17-40L and 70-200 f/2.8L IS II without problems, hoods reversed though.
