I had a "camera" backpack and it was worse on the shoulders than a Domke shoulder bag.

Now I use the F-Stop bags because they have internal frames to distribute the load.

I do not understand why they add hip straps to bags that are not designed for them.

Because it looks like it will work, if people actually loaded up these back packs with all their gear and threw them on their back before they bought them there would be less back packs sold.

The 400aw is not as bad as everyone is making out. I've had mine on for over an hour with no issues. I'm yet to have it on all day though

thanks guys, so more tight around waist and less tight around shoulders?

What made the biggest difference for me on my pack, the Lowepro 450 AW, was the shoulder pad straps. I loaded up the pack, did the normal waist and chest straps, then shoulders. At first my pack wasn't very comfortable, but after doing the shoulders it's been great. I never get tired anymore at all.

I've worn my lowepro protrekker 400aw for close to 6 hours a day during my last camping trip to do some day hikes. It was heavy but didn't wear my shoulders out once I properly positioned the straps and had it cinched down.

I don't believe it has an internal frame either.

There are several '400 AWs' ;)...The Flipside 400 AW, for instance, but there's also the Pro Trekker 400 AW and the Magnum 400 AW :). That's why I always mention the full name instead of just e.g. '400 AW or '600 AW'.

Does that bag hold your 70-300 IS while attached to the camera body?

If it does, that's good news...

It can when the lens hood is reversed but it is pretty tight.

In the picture on the camera is the 17-85. The 70-300 is the one on the left with lens hood reversed. The 50 is on the right with the lens hood on normal.

Perhaps a little small for most PoTN peeps, I just posted a Think Tank Photo Retrospective 5 review (external link) on my own site. Though the images and general gist of it applies equally well to the larger versions.

Long and short of it, awesome company, awesome products. The quality of the materials and workmanship are simply outstanding. I use both the Urban Disguise 20 and Retrospective 5 bags personally - and see more in my future.

Heres my "The Hundreds" Paparazzi verion 2 DSLR bag. Its probably my favorite bag I own. It holds all my lenses and body. Also holds a lot of other cumbersome stuff in the storage compartment at the top. It also carries my 17'' laptop.

QUOTED IMAGE

could you do a review on this bag? but then again I've been looking online and can't seem to find one in stock.. :(

I have a Lowepro 400 AW Magnum and a Lowepro Rezo 170AW. Even fully loaded the magnum fits nicely on my walker which I have to use except for brief walks of 20 feet or less . The Rezo is a capable bag for my 60D when out and close to home

Sweet looking bag, certainly one of the better designed bags I've seen....where does the tent and bed roll fit?

Max,

My buddy works for Sullen clothing and he's been using this bag for his tour shoots. I'll ask him where he picked it up. I know he's a big fan of the bag.
