i'm waiting for my Canon 5DM3 to arrive

in the meantime i'm looking for a good shoulder bag

i used to own the Crumpler 5 million dollar home which was perfect for the Canon 7D + extra lens + flash

now, i was wondering if i should go for the 6 or 7 million model

here is what it would contain:

- 5DM3 + 24-70 attached
- 17-40
- 70-200 f4 IS
- 1 flash

i really want to optimize the space and get the smallest bag

your advices would be highly appreciated

if owners tell me that crumpler 6 million is just fine, i won't go for the 7 million if it fits

i don't need extra space

thanks

I'm basically carrying what you've described and am using the Think Tank Retrospective 20. I can keep the 5D with the 70-200 mounted and it fits everything plus accessories comfortably.

Lowepro Exchange Messenger

Sorry for the iphone quality, it's currently holding:

5DII gripped + 50 1.4 (hood in shooting mode), medium size rocketblower, my 430 EX II in the pouch with a diffuser on top, 1 extra CF card, body and lens caps. Not bad for a $30 bag IMO. It has no construction, but I padded it out with dividers from my other bags. This is super light to carry and I enjoy it rather than carrying my flipside 300 when I don't have too.

Here is a new camera bag I picked up.

It has the two zippered pockets on both sides and inside of them, are the sewn in pockets as you can see in the photos, plus lots of room in there for stuff outside of the pockets.

There is also a pocket on each side below the hand straps, between the front zippered pocket and the main compartment...they are just open and not zippered but can hold things you need quick easy access to. One each end of the bag is the same type of pocket.

The main area I was able to fit in perfectly a Billingham Hadley large insert that holds my 5DMkII w/grip and RRS bracket and then there is room on either side of it for lenses/flashes. Outside the insert i have my Leica binos in there and a fold up reflector that I like using for flowers. As my kit expands I will add the Billingham superflex pockets in the front where my binos are.

This bag is from Filson so its built to last and lifetime no question warranty made in the US.

Lee filters, headlamp and Rocket Blower. I removed the Zing bag and placed the remote switch and right angle viewfinder in the front pocket. This gives me more room for non photo gear.

Me, +/-5'-4", and the bag :D Since this photo was taken I've adjusted the shoulder straps and the bag sits higher on my back. It's very comfortable!

My current bags as of 3 June 2012. Things have grown a lot, and with all these equipment I'm thinking it's time to expand my Graphic Design business to include Photography services as well.

IMAGE: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/BraMan7/Bryan%20Camera%20Bags/Bag-1.jpg
My main camera bag, Vanguard 40. This is the bag I usually bring to my workplace. Note that I modded the bag slightly. I added a telescopic handle, extra handle & wheels for easier transport. Weigh at around 14kg all together.

IMAGE: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/BraMan7/Bryan%20Camera%20Bags/Bag-2.jpg
2nd bag, Vanguard 53. Mainly for storage in my home. Seldom used it outside if I need to carry more stuff that I couldn't fit it all in my Vanguard 40.

IMAGE: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/BraMan7/Bryan%20Camera%20Bags/Bag-3.jpg
Lighting bag. I opted to go with Speedlights for convenience & lightweight setup, rather than strobe lights. I mostly bring this bag together with my Vanguard 40 for product & portable studio photography.

IMAGE: http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/BraMan7/Bryan%20Camera%20Bags/Bag-4.jpg
Backpacks that I use the most now. The Fancier was pretty new, only just used once & will be used mainly for outdoor sports photography. I used the Flipside more often for travelling & most recently plane spotting on the airport.

I still have like 4 other bags I didn't bother to take photos of, because I don't use them often anymore (see my gear for details).
Thinking to sell it to pay some bills.
