Picked up the TT Airport Takeoff yesterday and put in my kit for the trip. Tips the scales at just under 30 lbs so I should be good to go. I just sent a student of mine over there and one of the guys on his safari had a shutter go out. I second this recommendation! I just returned from South Africa a few weeks ago and my DSLR failed me at the exact moment we arrived at our Safari Resort! I was furious to say the least. Thank goodness I listened to the wonderful recommendations on this site and rented the extra body. Had I not listened to this exact advice then I would have missed out on some amazing shots. If so, I'd seriously consider visiting the DeWildt Cheetah Preserve, and photograph the extremely RARE King Cheetahs. They are such beautiful animals, and I believe can ONLY be found in a very few preserves. Photographers do it in 1/1,000th of a second...but the memory lasts forever!

Did not forget backup bodies, I have access to 3 D700 and a D300s. I just switched back to Nikon and have not decided on the purchase of a 2nd body yet. I will wait till FB season starts up again to make that decision. I know I don't have that much gear yet but I've got a few more items I want to purchase to complete my kit. In my bag I currently have 5D Mark III mounted with 24-105, 135L, 600EX-RT, Lowerpro lens exchange case, Blackrapid RS-7 strap, CF cards and batteries on the flip side of the bag. I wanted a bag with lots of room for my future gear and a bag to travel with and Thanktank Commuter is the bag for me. Sorry for the iphone picture.
