I'm just getting started. I bought this Lowepro bag last weekend.

Here's a couple of older bag photos.

Firstly a LowePro Nova 5 AW

Secondly a Crumpler Crippy Duck (L)

The crumpler holds a 1Ds, 35/1.4L, 135/2L and a Thinkpad X40.

Here's a size comparison of the bag next to a 70-200/2.8L IS

I'm going to have to post some updated pictures of my Naneu Pro bag, as I did some rearranging since I got my Sigma 70-200.

Strongly looking at the Nova 4 Aw or Nova 5 Aw from the images I've seen in this thread. I'd love to pick up a crumpler but don't want to pay the price tag, nova series seems to be a good compromise thus far, and I've never had any complaints with the quality of the lowepro stuff. Just need to decide between 4 and 5 methinks...

I have both the Nova 5 and Nova 1. The quality is terrific, you can't go wrong.

Okie dokie, here's mine that I sniped offa E Pay. 250.00 on Amazon, I stole this puppy for 180.00

Tamrac Super Pro 13 Model 613 It was used but arrived in pristine clean condition, I am thrilled! Trap door in the back...pockets and pouches galore, tripod straps. Very nice build and heavy duty hand and shoulder carrying straps. Yup, this will be with me till my time is done here. Very happy.

How do you find the Nova 5? Is it really big and bulky? I really can't decide between the 4 and the 5. I know the 5 would probably hold all my gear, but I'm worried it'd be too uncomfortable for long periods of time.

Of course it depends on what you are used to, but I wouldn't call it a "big" bag. Having said that, I don't think I would want to work out of something much larger for prolonged periods.
Quite frankly, I generally use a smaller bag for outings, carrying only what I really need. Bags about the size of the Nova 1, I find perfect. I'm currently dragging around a small National Geographic Shoulder Bag, which I like a lot.
But when I must take more gear, the Nova 5 is perfect for my meager assortment of gear.
A camera bag is so personal, I certainly wouldn't recommend buying one without a hands-on experience. Good luck.

My new bag setup :) It's perfect for my uses and fits everything I need on a normal walkabout. I find the messenger bag approach is less camera-ish and more street yo....ahem

Here's a (lousy) pic of my bag. I love how it can hold EVERYTHING for a wedding shoot so I only have ONE bag to wheel around on the day. AND it's airline carry-on size.

The bag is a Think Tank Photo "Airport Security".

I'm searching for a bag that will qualify as carry-on, has great padding, but does not look like I'm carrying camera equipment. I have The Canon 400D with EF-S 17-85mm f/4 5.6 IS USM and BG-E3 Grip along with a Powershot 65 and various batteries, chargers and hopefully one day soon another lens and an external flash. Thanks for your help.

Terry

My camera bag is in post #353 in this thread. It doesn't look much like a camera bag at all, rather a normal back pack, and it will fit as a carry on.

Thanks T.J., I ordered this bag! I like the security of where the camera equipment is accessed and the fact that it doesn't look like a camera bag. Thanks again for the help.

Terry

(I ordered it in drab olive) :D

I had ordered the green camo but it was out of stock; my brother has that bag.

It's great and can fit a decent amout of gear. Its VERY well padded and the weight of all my equipment has never bothered me. I definately recommend the bag!

Anybody have the MountainSmith Quantum Camera Pack?

I'm looking for a smooth hiking bag...esp. one that can hold stuff for a day hike, a slr, couple lenses, and a 3L CamelBak.

any pictures of gear inside and what not would be greatly appriciated! :-)
