Looks like F-Stop has added/updated/revised some of their bag offerings, at least in their Mountain Series line. When I get back to thinking of a new bag I'll have to review and refresh what is what.

I just found this thread -- it's awesome!

I'm thinking about a Tenba Shoot-out 18L or 24L - or maybe an F-Stop Loca UL or Lotus or Guru but I really have no idea.

Thanks!

I have a Tenba Shootout Medium that I'm no longer using... If you are interested, PM me. You can still see the design on Amazon.

Just a thought here. How about some pics of people wearing the bags? Especially the backpacks, to get a feel for size and fit of the bags.

Um... Hi

I'm looking for a review. :)

So I am in the market for a camera bag. Im not looking for anything huge since all i have is a Canon T3i with a kit lens and 55-250 lens.

I've been searching a lot and have yet to find a bag to my liking. I want a bookbag style but nothing huge. My main purpose would be to carry it while walking around downtown Chicago ect, nothing to travel with.

So my thought is a Dakine Nomad 18L, it is a "technical pack" which is similar to a camelbak. So it is not meant for a DSLR. I know this sounds really bad because its not padded or slotted or anything but i planned on purchasing lens sleeves and a sleeve for my SLR as well.

Any thoughts? Suggestions of any slim bags meant for SLR's? Am i completely crazy lol?

Right now no. The main use would just be an easy carry. I might add a few more lenses to my collection down the road but i cant imagine anything more than 1 or 2. In which i wouldnt carry them all with me. I liked this one because its a low profile and not bulky, and also has straps which i could try and rig a tripod onto if i needed to.

The main reason for the post was just seeing if anyone had any alternatives that are meant for slr's, ive been searching forever ha

Could look at something like the Lowepro Sport 200 AW, (also available in black):

Good amount of room if you get larger lenses/camera in the future, fits everything except a pro size body (1d series) with a normal size lens attached, and one extra large lens like an 70-200. Plenty of room in the top for a jacket/food etc, or more gear if you wrap it in something. Tripod and water bottle on the sides.

For the amount of gear you ave currently you could also look at a shoulder bag, which are much quicker to get gear in and out of. Something like the Passport Sling, or Event Messenger.

I don't get the backpack style. Isn't it just for flights? How can you possibly work a shoot from it? Even if you have a camera on your shoulder, doesn't it take forever to change lenses? Do you dump the pack somewhere to work out of it?

I've got a pelican for motor transport. I use a huge Domke with double-ended backcaps to hold 2 primes in each padded section. (I only need 4 sections for all my primes.) I have an Urban Disguise 30 that I use daily with whatever lenses favor the day. An old LowePro35 bag is now a range bag (film can loops hold magazines just fine!).

I utilize a backpack style bag (Tamrac 787) because it is well organized and for the shortest time it may be out of sight, it does not yell CANON Cameras inside. In particular, when laying on the back seat floor of my pickup (which has limo tinted back windows). I have never worn my backpack, except the day i received it. It's a bit on the heavy side. Not it's fault though...we all shoot in a wide variety of situations and have a variety of personal concerns. :)

Damn. I haven't seen a lens like that in a long time. Is that the LensWrap stuff? It looks good there; not the usual "mouse pad on ½ of your lens" look. Maybe bigger lenses are a more a visually-appropriate size than a miniature 70-200 2.8.

:) Yes it is the neoprene lens cover by Lenscoat.
