I am looking for a Domke shoulder bag. I really like the canvas type. My equipment is as follows: XTi with Tamron 17-50 attatched, XT with Canon 10-22 attatched, canon 70-300 with hood, 420 flash, spare batteries & cards. I will have one body around my neck while I walk around, but need a bag that will fit all of this when I am not shooting pics. I would like to have the smallest bag possible as both cameras would not be in the bag at the same time very often, so a fairly tight fit would be ok. I have a Computrekker AW for transporting. B&H has internal & external measurements of the Domke bags. I thought that they were practically the same in & out because of no padding, but that is not what B&H website states. I would like to go no more than 12" long on the exterior. Can anyone who owns the F-3X, F-6, or the F-4AF, let me know the interior & exterior dimensions?
If there are other bags that would fit my needs, please let me know.
Thank you so much.
Kath

Don't get the F-3x. I have it and it's smaller than you would think. On the other hand, it suits my purpose and forces me to keep it light.I can fit, if I really want to, an XTI with 17-55 lens attached. A 70-200 f/4 and essentially that's it. It's a tough fit too. So it's not easy to pull in and out.

Dimensions on the Tiffen/Domke site are quite accurate. I don't have the F-6 or F-4AF, but I agree, the F-3x will be too small for 2 bodies. The F-6 may be tight as well. I suspect the outer dimensions at B&H are incorrect; the F-6 doesn't seem to have end pockets and that's the only way I could see it being 4" longer outside than in. I'd take a look at the F-802 with 720-230 insert, the F-803 or the F-2 Classic as alternatives. Of course you could add the F-901 pouch to one or both ends of the F-6 (assuming it doesn't have pockets); the strobe will fit nicely in that.

ill chime in and also say the f-3x with 3 bodies wouldn't be ideal - however I LOVE my f-3x

I have to say, I bought the f-6 today meaning to put a Canon Digital Rebel XTi with an EF 28mm/1.8 fixed canon lens and a UV filter, a rather vintage Olympus Pen F with 38mm/1.8 standard lens, a holga, a point and shoot, cables for both digitals (including an adaptor and a battery charger ans a spare battery and a memory card wallet) Manuals, and film) . I actually managed to fit in a canon slr body aswell along with a book, all straps, spare lithium batteries for the canon slr, its manual, and all sorts of other stuff i wasn't expecting would fit (including a mini tripod, ipod charger, permanant marker, 3 cds, mini photo album, screen protecters and a mini cleaning set.) It was a pleasant surprise. I think with the insert it comes with you may have issues organizing it but I guess if you bought your own inserts (the "short" domke ones) you could arrange it properly. As far as I can see on the domke length wise, the interior and exterior are pretty equivelant. Tiffen, which manafactures domke, state 12L x 6W x 7"D and B&H state 12 x 6.0 x 7.0" (both interior) so on that they agree. I think what B&H (where i bought it) did was measure the length of the hood, which definitely extrudes about two inches on each side, explaining 4 inch difference.

For you, who has slightly more stuff than me, I would suggest the f-6 (maybe fiddle with the arrangement, as mentioned) and possibly pouches on the side if it doesn't all fit accesibly. I did fit two bodies in the front pocket, so all th junk in the middle that's not lenses could fit in their for sure, leaving room for 3 average zoom lenses and another short lens. (don't worry, only for a week, i don't plan on completely bashing up my holga and olympus)

I love this forum!! You guys are great!! I was pretty sure the f-3x was gonna be too small, but it's the bag I will eventually get for just one body. Jon, thanks for the suggestion of a side pouch, didn't even think about that!! lxlloyd, just the info I was looking for. Couldn't figure out where those 4" were coming from. I will order the f-6 tomorrow & hope it works out. If too small, I will get a side pouch.
Thanks again.
Kath

The F-2 will accomodate two bodies very easily, but it's larger than you indicated.
