Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Toronto get events.

I would seriously think about attending these. I'm signed up for Tuesday, September 11th.

Anyone else going to go?

PS - you don't need ot be a CPS member. I think I'll be tempted to sign up there though.

Registered. I'll be there bright and early with my double double. Hopefully I can get in on that lightroom seminar.

DOH! I wish I'd known about this earlier!
Maybe I'll try to check it out tomorrow if I can still register...

Jason, did you end up going? Would you recommend it for non-professionals? The Toronto event is over the next two days and I was told there is still opportunity to attend.

I attended the Toronto event today. It is good if you want to see a specific piece of gear. You get the chance to speak to one of the some two dozen Canon reps there. I had the opportunity to speak to my Canon rep and express some of my views. I also had the chance to play with the 1DsMKIII for a few awhile which confirmed my decision to purchase this one.

They also have all of their high end video and printing equipment there and some of that is pretty cool.

There are a couple of Adobe and Mac seminars that you can attend for nothing but they are not all that exciting, imo. If you already know photoshop I think you might find it a waste of time.

You can fill out an application for CPS membership there but the rules still apply. As I was filling out my evaluation form for the day they told someone that had just starting filling out the form that he wouldn't qualify.

I did get about a half hour with one of the senior engineers with Canon Canada and it was one of the most informative sessions I have had with Canon in quite awhile.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.
