Best deal on Canon EF-S 17-55 2.8 IS?

Looking for the best price on this lens, both Beach and B&H have it for $999 plus shipping. Certainly there's a deal out there somewhere or one coming up soon!!

Anyone know of a better deal?

Try looking at Buydig.com. I just bought one from there as well as another member here. The prices fluctuate almost daily and there is no price adjusting. Last time I looked it was $929 with free shipping. They have good ratings and I had no problems.

i would wait for buydig.com. it was just at $949 yesterday! I bought mine a few weeks ago for $966 with free 2 day shipping. The lowest since then was around $929 and $933. Be patient.

I got mine a little while ago for 850 new on B&H. USA warranty too.

You just have to be patient and look around for a price you'd be happy with.

Damn, buydig and EVERYONE else is currently $999 plus shipping! Finally want to buy one and the price is up everywhere...

Canon is supposed to release a 18-55 IS for around $200 in oct . I emailed them and they said the price was up to dealers .

Sounds like a great lens, but it's not 2.8 and I doubt the glass will even be close to the quality of the 17-55 2.8...

I'll bet the new 3.5-5.6 will eventually be thier standard kit lens and you'll be able to pick one up for a song.....

For someone like me who waits for sales , at $200 an IS lens is better than the 18-55 and the 28-90 I have now . I am hoping the 580 gets a good rebate and maybe the new IS also .
It's a hobby and by the time I had enough for the 350 [XT] the 400 [XTI] came out .

Your welcome. It's a great lens and as cheap as I've seen it. Better order up when you can. Rebates might come in October but who knows how long this price will last.

That's a great price. I'm thinking of picking one up now, too. We just need to wait until Saturday for B&H to re-open, and hopefully the discounts aren't gone by then...
