Hey guys,

I just purchased a Canon Powershot s30 yesterday, and I am getting the strangest error when trying to use ZoomBrowser Ex. Every time I attempt to connect to my camera, I receive this error that says, "Unable to connect to camera window". Anyone ever get anything like this??????? (im using windows2000 by the way)

Also, when I use the "Twain Window", I can grab my regular image files, but it seems that I CAN'T grab any of the movies I created. Anyone know how to get by this?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

I got the same problem after installing/uninstalling Mcafee Virusscan 3.2.

I eventualy solved the problem by accident when I tried to run CameraWindow****.exe in the ZoomBrowser program directory. Got a message that the program could not be run as a stand-alone application, but after that I was able to open the camera window from within ZoomBrowser (can't remember what the button is called, Download? Connect to camera?). Opening it via the USB Event dialog still doesn't work though.

Had to do the same thing again after upgrading to 3.2

I have a Powershot A40 and Windows 98SE. For me Zoombrowser worked OK initially then suddenly it would not connect to the Camera Window, but continued to work using the TWAIN option.

Zoombrowser would occasionally bomb out with a page fault in RPCRT4.DLL

I did a Google on RPCRT4.dll and got:
http://www.experts-exchange.com …ems/Win98/Q_20241669.html (external link)
which suggested a relationship between:

ole32.dll
oleaut32.dll
rpcrt4.dll

with one user solving a problem by reverting to an old (1999) version of oleaut32.dll. The version I was running was 3.50.5014.0. When I replaced it with version 2.40.4275 (and rebooted) Zoombrowser connection to the Camera Window began working again.

I suspect version 3.50.5014.0 of oleaut32.dll was loaded when I installed a new CD Burner recently. So far the burner continues to work OK with the old version.

Ziggy
