Okay, these are the FIRST macros I have EVER taken. I just got my new 100mm f/2.8 today and love it. These are using no flash and all natural lighting at around 5pm eastern time with no tripod. Tell me what you guys think and C&C as hard as you wanna go at it. ;-)a Enjoy:

Shot 1: Some sort of baby cricket. It was about 1cm long.
Shot 2: Just a normal old bumble bee. :-D

Here are two more of a moth/butterfly that im not sure the name of. If anyone wants to help me out feel welcome to. The thing seemed to be drinking out of the flower with its curly sucker thingie. (god I sound so ignorant about bugs lol)

Enjoy:
(P.S. The images became desaturated when I put them up, they looked alot nicer beforehand :( )

$469.00 from B&H great price for the qual I think. And no, no hulk in my mouth. Its one of those hero-clix things. A unique one too. :)

Not too much. What you see is pretty much how zoomed it was originally I just cropped to re-frame and then downsized. Most of those are about 75-90% of the whole original image. The bee and the moth with red flower were about 50% of original full size.

First, Congratulations on the new lens, you will love it. Second, that is a Skipper Butterfly. Be careful, Macro is extremely addictive. You have some excellent compositions on these. Fist tip in shooting Macro, aim for the eyes, make them as crystal clear and sharp as possible. a flash will be invaluable if you are shooting without a tripod. need to know settings for these shots to further help. also, what kind of camera are you using?

Using Rebel Xt as of now. I wanna get an upgrade soon. Waiting for the next generation of cameras to make the decision of whether to get current gen or the new one that will have come out.

Im gonna get a flash soon. I have a tripod as well, just didn't have it with me at the time. Settings will take a while. Lemme pull em up:

Shot 1 of cricket:
Shutter 1/125 sec at 400 ISO
Aperture f/5.6

Shot 2 of bee:
Shutter 1/200 sec at 800 ISO
Aperture f/5.0

Shot 3, butterfly 1:
Shutter 1/500 sec at 800 ISO
Aperture f/5.0

Shot 4 butterfly 2:
Same as shot 3

Shot 5 butterfly 3:
Shutter 1/400 sec at 800 ISO
Aperture f/5.0

Hope this helps you help me. Btw, I thought it MIGHT have been a butterfly because I didn't think moths did the whole nectar with long sucky thing deal.
