Another hopper first for me..

Only had a few minutes to hunt bugs, so I tried a nearby raspberry bush stand. Lots of insects, but hard to position yourself with all of the needles. These are the largest of the hoppers I have found yet.

#1 a partial frontal showing a very kewl eye.

#2 the side shot, the transparent wings show up nicely.

#3 a seed bug ?? I let it crawl on me for the photo, then I noticed the large "probiscus".

Nice color and contrast. Spot on focus. I really like the second.

This is a very interesting and fantastic type of photography (macro stuff). Love your shots. I need to look into this type of shooting in the future. Darn, another lens!:D

Thanks everyone for the comments, I just love shooting these little critters, I always thought they were only found in warmer climates untill I found my first one this summer, now I think I'm up to 5-6 different species.

interesting detail on what I think is a Treehopper; those Seed Bugs will pierce your skin and although not really painful you will feel it.
