My buddy is in the market for one, so far retail seems to be exactly unaffected.

Canon 20D, Nikon D300 & assorted stuff...

Check out your local CC for any leftover.. they usually sell it in a dirt cheap price for their outdated or soon be replaced model.

Last time I looked, Beach camera was still getting $899 for a new 20D. Prices will surely drop on the 30D, but not as much as you would expect.

Bear in mind most stores will not sell you a display unless it's their absolute last one they have. If it's discontinued they should be able to take 10% off whatever they've got marked, otherwise they may not budge.

I dont know about that. Personally i would never buy a floor model (d)slr from any one other than a camera specific store. You have no idea how may people just walk in there an just click the shutter. And at least 2 out of every 3 times i walk into a circuit city etc they do not have a body cap in, exposing the mirror/sensor area, and many other important (and expensive) parts that you know people touch.

I agree! Floor models could have thousands of shutter activations. Every time I look at a floor model I pull off the cap or the lens and look inside. Almost every time the mirror is covered with numerous fingerprints and smudges. Who knows just how dirty is is inside there. There's no way I would ever buy a floor model...
