I've been doing this for games and cds in the past and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a buying service in Japan.

Some lens are only available in Japan, or available months in advance.

Also used stores have some premium lens for decent prices.

I've been doing it for a 10-15% premium in the past and would be willing to do so.

I understand the whole trust issue and one way I've done it in the past was to list it on ebay with buy it now and send the link to the buyer by instant message so no one else would buy it.

Anyway, if this sounds interesting, drop me a PM!

I'd be interested in it depending on prices. I guess is similar to what Kerso does from the US.

Can you post some sample prices for some of the popular lenses and typical shipping costs to the UK?

Thanks!

Prices actually do look better from the sites you linked (I just converted a few prices)

I don't think I'm interested at this point but its a nice service you're offering.

www.xe.com (external link) to convert!

I live in Shinjuku so I'm already at the shops, and if I can help out and help finance my own stuff, it's a real plus on both sides :)

i may be interested in making future purchases from you. but, i have two questions.

what lenses do they offer in japan that they don't offer in the states? have examples? sites?

how much would shipping be to the states for say 5 lbs or less and how long will it take to get here?

Always looking to support entrepreneurs and save a few if I can. Am I doing something wrong here? I looked at the link for a 300mm f/2.8 IS, converted the 615900 yen to $5320. B&H has it listed for $3899.

Nothing wise or clever to enlighten you with!

Turntablist:
one example that comes to mind is the Tokina 16-50 f2.8 DX Pro
It came out on 4/25 in Japan and I believe it's still barely available in the US.
Another (not so good) example is the "Kit lens". In Japan it's USM.

EMS shipping rates are here:
http://www.ems-post.jp/index.php?lang=en (external link)

insured, traceable and fast

Newpics: most Japanese sites don't have English, that why i can help since I speak Japanese

Petepix: I'll look at a few prices and mail you. I know some lens are cheaper in the US, while some are cheaper in Japan. As a rule, I found out that 3rd party and used lens are better priced in Japan
