I feel really lucky that I can view these so easily....my colleague can't 'get it' at all! BUYING A CANON DOESN'T MAKE YOU A PHOTOGRAPHER, IT MAKES YOU A CANON OWNER.

To complicate matters the individual shot(s) are also focus stacks to increase the DOF in them. You just hope the bug stays still whilst doing them. Brian V. So, you took 3 to4 shots of differing dof, then moved slightly sideways, and took 3 to 4 more shots? That is one patient bug and one VERY talented photographer. I (and I know others do as well) VERY much appreciate your great willingness to give advice and tell your techniques. Thank you. Tim

Tim - doesn't always work like that- I take the first shot then if the bug hasn't moved take a series for a focus stack then if it still hasn't moved I do a second series for a 3-D. Quite often the bug does move and I just end up with a single shot http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/
