I've got to catch one of those meteor showers when it's NOT mosquito season, lol. The last time there was one, we got in my car and drove down to the end of the driveway and watched through the windows because the bugs were so bad. :)

I caught a bit of the shower but not on film. Just sat out and enjoyed it, cup of coffee and a good cigar.

Jim, we moved from Hillsborough a couple of years ago.

The Leonids Meteor Shower will be in November around the 19th . No mosquitos then but may need a coat :) .

this meteor shower caused a big stir here in nj/ny area. 911 calls went crazy about some sort of bright light off the horizon. coast guard and numerous other agencies went crazy trying to find out what it was till it was reported to be the meteor shower.

Since I live in the western US the show did manage to live up to expectations. Only downside was the Moon washed out the majority but I did manage to catch a few. Like Win posted, the real enjoyment was sitting out there in the quiet and enjoying coffee. I counted 24 meteors total within 30 minutes before and after peak time.

ISO 1600, 30sec, f/4 @ 17mm (images cropped).
