First attempt at using my 60 macro, this was shot on full auto, onboard flash, and 1.1 ratio set on the lens. I believe this to be a Pandora catapillar.Comments welcome, as I will be needing all the help I can get.(newbie) Thanks Douglas

looks fine, you can diffuse the on board flash with a split ping pong ball for softer lighting although this looks okay.

Thank you Toby for the ping pong ball trick, will have to get one and try. Does this slip over the head without taping.

Good shot- looks like you just missed clean focus on the head.
Re the ping pong ball- if you cut the hole/slot carefully think it should stay win position without taping (tape on flash heads not a good idea as they can get rather hot (don't think they make pingpong balls out of nitro-cellulose any more :) ).

Thank you Brian, will have to take more care on the focus issue. And thanks for the info on the ping pong ball I look forward to trying it out.

I would allow a little more space in front of the caterpillar. Great subject.
