More from the Marche Publique, a gentleman who made whistles.

Selling his wares.

Using a hand turned lathe he forms the whistle

The finishing touches.

Aside from great pictures, I'm learning a lot from your series'.

We have several Rendezvous' here locally every year with craftspeople working in a temporary village. But I think the timeline is earlier than what your showing. A lot of leatherwork, arrowhead making, soapmaking and similar stuff. They all camp out in teepees. :)

The time line is probably the mid to late 1700's. It is real interesting seeing some of these crafts people doing their work and talking to them and getting some back ground not only on the craft but on life in that time. They all play the part perfectly steppin back in character as well as costume.
The best one is the Spoon Maker, not only is he excellent at his craft but is a tremendous story teller. He kept the crowd spell bound with tales of what it was like to live back then. Can't wait till next year.
Will try and get a few more up later to-day or tomorrow.

Great captures. It is interesting to see people still practicing a lost art. Now where's the whistle blower?;)
