This is usually a once a year event, although I have seen a few blooms on these extraordinary plants twice before since June this year. I took these last night. The first was taken at 6pm:

Then the rest were taken after 9pm, the lovely scent was all around, and I was amazed at the number of people who walked past the many trees loaded with hundreds of blooms and appeared not to notice them!! As you can see, apart from the huge numbers of flowers, they are enormous, about the size of coconuts! How could you miss 'em:rolleyes:

Hope you enjoy these. Comments welcome.

Thanks guys, they truly are a beautiful sight - one of the plants must have had at least a hundred blooms on it.

Supposedly it is just one night a year. However, I saw a few flowers on it in June, and again two weeks ago, but it was just a few. Last night there were literally hundreds of them all open at once, (throughout a parkway near the Wyndham Crystal Palace, Cable Beach, Nassau)with a few buds that look like they will open tonight. We've been having some really, really hot weather this summer, perhaps that encouraged it to show off a little more than usual.
