What would you recommend as a great prime for portrait and studio work?

At this stage I am using the 24-70 zoom for the majority of my studio stuff. The 100 macro is not bad if you slow yourself down a bit and allow the focus to keep up. I find it not very good with Al servo, the focus is to slow to keep up.
The best primes on a FF body for studio/portrait work is the 85L and the 135L.

Been reading some of the other threads on this but im tempted by the 1DS 111. Its a huge block of dough to spend when im not a professional.
I love wildlife and currently own the 20D which has been a truely superb camera. I want to upgrade and must confess my camera is bolted to my side wherever i go SO can someone guide me please?

I can tell you right now that 22mp will provide the ability to crop into a photo unlike the 20D ever could. That alone is almost worth the extra cost. For those in photojournalism, etc... (especially weddings) that get the shot, but with a bunch of other stuff that can benefit the shot by being cropped out, 22mp will leave you plenty of leeway to get the details and save plenty of shots.

If you can afford it and you see this type of work in the future, I would recommend it.

When im doing landscapes I now take 4 shots of everything & stitch them, most of my landscape scenes are now anywhere between 40mp & 80mp, with my panoramics roughly 100mp +

Obviously its no good for that split second shot, in that case its 12.8mp, but when time isnt an issue its better than a 1DS III.

The treatments are expensive.

And sadly, so temporary.

Sweet new gear for a photogenic new year!

Im jeeelooothe , becaue I'd love to be able justify that camera to myself (not that I can afford it ( yet;) ) but as an amateure I'd feel a bit over dressed. Nonetheless once I got over my self conciousness I bet Id make some reel purdy pictures wit it

One thing I have always wanted was the ability to do HUGE prints, and of course thi would make it easier, better, gooder. But my photographic skills are still trying to catch up with te 20 year hiatus I had from photograhy:p:oops:

EXCEPT WHEN YOU USE IT LIKE THIS. :D

that would be a different, far more hated button than the shift key being used there :p
