Pollenated at 3x

From time to time they have to stop and clean themselves, but they move so much in the process I've never been able to photograph them above 2x until now.

amazing detail - looks like you used the MT24 given the double light in each reflective pollen - but its not obtrusive.

Almost impossible to avoid flash reflection unless you can use a soft box to diffuse it. I've seen a few images on Flickr where someone did just that, but with a 2xTC and shooting above F16 there's no detail in the eye (the guy had to use a large Fstop since he was triggering the camera remotely). Always trade offs in photography and sometimes you just have to make the best use of what you have -and if you can't eliminated something then figure out a way to use it to your advantage...
