It looks like there is a great deal of texture and tonal range, and a little D&B would really coax it out. Of the two, I likewise prefer the second photo as it is a closer crop that narrows onto the subject. I would like to see a photo of it head on though, with perhaps a person passing by to add human drama and scale. Just my opinion, though. Thanks for sharing! Pio

Is it safe to go late in the day?
