Not for the "pixel peepers" these images have a shallow depth of field because I deliberately shot them that way ;) If you want we can get into a discussion about how depth of field is a compositional tool (no different than the rule of thirds, etc.) and how getting maximum depth of field all the time is a mistake...

Superb series of natural light shots they are all great but I love the colours in the first shot


Canon 40D, 350D, 550D and 7D :D
Sigma 105, 150 and Canon 100L Macro
Canon 70 - 200 F4L,

Very nice John :) :) Though I hate to follow rules;)... Your backed off images are terrific man... It is nice to work with subtle background colors once in a while, for art that the masses can appreciate it as art.... Nice job.....Alex

Great series of shots, #1 is my favorite, that shot evokes memories of those early misty morning walks by the river, soft mist & the occasional distant bird call & nobody else to be seen :D
