They are stunning butterflies aren't they, and nice shots too. They are not all of the same individual though. In shot one, on both wings, where the white spots meet the red banding, there are little white dots actually in the red itself. These dots are not present in shot two, therefore it is a different butterfly. There have been numerous comments about these white dots in the UK butterfly forums and the general opinion has been that they are aberrations, but pretty common ones.
I thought you might like to know that. :D

Great shots, #1 is my favorite, I've been really disappointed at the lack of Butterflies in my garden this Yr. even my Buddleia that usually brings them in has failed this time, most odd & believe it or not I've only seen one
Cabbage White - Pieris rapae so far

They were both taken within 30ft of each other. I took the first on then he flew over some shrubs and the second one was taken the other side so I just thought it was the same one. Cheers.
