I order from Amazon on Sunday. It said delivery in October. Today I checked and now it says shipping soon. Who knows. Says estimated delivery Sep 7th.

You should wait on the 60D. The 50D will only have 12MP and a 3 1/2" inch screen. The rumour has it the 60D will have the 5" 3D screen, 20MP, and shoot 20 frames per second, all at $1000 World dollars.

Tallyn's has them in stock as of 3:30 est 09-04-2007. I order one along with a canon 300mm f/4 IS then.Should be here thurday ( 09-06-2007)

Local = sales tax which then takes the camera in my area 1432.14 and i just can't see doing that when I got it for 1299.00 and free shipping or shall say was suppose to get it.

Just picked up a 40D from Georges Camera in San Diego, they had 2 left when I left the store.... (619)297-3544

I did the same thing James... they will be in stores here in less then 20 days so i will just wait the crazy times out and make sure I do not have a rush camera!

I came home from work and I didn't have anything sitting here. So I went to check the status on UPS and it said delivered! I looked all over and was going to freak out but then my girlfriend came out with the box from Amazon. She was playing an April fools joke on me in September. I guess its payback cause I mess with her every other day of the year...

Yes, that is called gouging I believe. I would stop spending my money with them and let them know why...

Ironically, this store has everything and very friendly. I stumbled upon it thinking it was just some 1 hr photo store but when you walk on, I was in heaven. They had boxes and boxes of canon, 24-70L 70-200 f/2.8 f/4, 100-400, you name it and they even had displayed a 500mm lens with a 30D and all the higher end camera's I was like what the h*ll! Great place to try out and hold the camera with their lens and while I was there I figured, heck, I'll ask the question, how much is the 40D? That's what they came up with. Unfortunately, I haven't bought anything on there yet. I should have asked about all the lenses. I was in awe looking at the sea of canon white boxes with all range lens.

Best buy must've ripped you a new hole...at least in your wallet. For the price they are asking for, you could've gotten extra batteries, a better lens and grip lol or one of those combinations.

What the hell are BnH playing at ? they have the body and kits listed with an arrival date of Sept with prices and specs. I Emailed them to try and get more info re arrival dates and got a response stating that they do not know dates, prices or whats in the box. They said they dilligently researched the answer but i'm not so sure as two of those things are clearly on their own website. It's a bummer because I have a $ 500 GC to put toward the cost and after having handled one in BB today I'm sure it's what I want
