Well I picked up mine today. I could not drive myself crazy looking forever. I made the mistake of going and holding one. I tried my hardest to talk myself out of it but I gave in to the feel and features. I still have to get a grip...hahaha...

I also have a sad day... I sold my D60... One to bigger and better photos I go!

Hmm according to Bestbuy website, theres some in stock at 2 locations .. Kit only though with the 28-135 ..

Contemplatin on whether i should get it or not since its another $97 for tax. I will definitely sell the lens when I get it though. If i sell it, price will come out to what body only would cost which is fine. Plus i dont have to wait for online vendors to ship. Hmmm .. tempting.

My local BB had two of them. I picked one up this morning with the 28-135 IS kit lens.

Bad news already though. The kit lens only worked for first 8 shots I took. After that, it started making clicking noises and would not focus. Swapped in my Tamron 17-50 and everything is fine. Tried the kit lens in my XTi and still clicking. Hmm??

Here are some samples of the 40D...first shot with kit lens and second shot with Tammy:

i ended up gettin mines also from best buy with the 28-135 KIT, which i will sell.

Also i was able to get them to manually apply the 10% coupon on it (even though it excludes DSLR) if i got the service plan (4yr $139). which ends up being free with the coupon so why not. i typically dont buy service plans but additional 4yr for free in the end aint too shabby.

there was 3 available and it wasnt on display yet. the girl there didnt even know what it was

Rechecked my order status early this evening, and it now states that it was shipped FedEx overnight!! I take back everything bad I said about Wolf Camera .

Recieved my camera this afternoon from Wolf Camera. I paid for 2 day shipping, but it was sent overnight.

What a huge difference coming from the XT. Now I know why everyone loved their 20/30D's.

Can I set my 40D so that the LCD displays shooting information by default? I hate having to press the Info button after every shot and I'm used to seeing the shooting info on the LCD 'cause the XTi I had previously was set up that way.

Thanks in advance.

I am really pissed now I canceled my order with Amazon and placed my order with Berger-Bros last Thursday as I was told I would get a body on there Friday shipment and then Friday they told me my body was shipped so now I find out I didn't get one shipped (phone call to them) and my name is on a list.

I don't like being lied to and will not do business with a company that will lie. So if anyone knows of any 40d bodies in stock I'd like to purchase one now.

I decided to sell my 5D and go for 40D so today I just went down to Best Buy in my town and pick it up they have tons of it in the store...hehehheheheee. no waiting time

I was also able to pick mine up today at Best Buy, my store had 3 28-135 kits available, they also were not on display yet in the store.

Have taken about 100 shots with mine and so far so good...:D Hell of an upgrade, coming from a D60...
