I did it! A 10D is mine. Prices dropped by $200 CDN and I had to do it. I know a new model is coming but it is my foray into DSLR and I need to start building up my lens collection for the Mark II (or Mark III) down the road. I just got the 28-105 because it was in stock and in my budget. Next is the 100 mm Macro, 1 gig CF and then after a few months maybe the 100-400L. :-)

Huge difference in all areas. Biggest is shutter lag. I have a soon to be 2 year old and now I catch her when I want.

I have been largely a lurker and have found all your postings VERY helpful for the last year. Actually been on the forum since my G2 purchase.

Anyway, playing around still but was able to get off about 500 photos this weekend.

Thanks again to all. Hopefully I can now contribute a bit more.

The nice thing about the 10D is that it's a camera that you can have for many years to come. If you're not a pro/semi-pro or don't get caught up in the have-to-have-the-latest-everything hoopla, then this camera can provide you pictures for many years to come.

Congrats and enjoy the new toy.

Congratulations,

I newly acquired a 300D and I am fretting about what lenses I want vs what I can afford. I can't wait will I have excess money to spend on such things.

I see you averaging around 2 posts per month since you joined two years ago. Guess you didn't feel you had much to talk about before. That will change now, I'm sure.

Congratulations on the purchase. You'll soon be cranking out pictures you never dreamed you could take before. Let us see them sometime.

Tom

Thanks.

It took a whopping 2 days! I was told it would take a week and a half.

I will post some pics once I get my SLR legs. Very pleased with the pics so far but most are my little girl.
