UK Canon warranty or a sellers warranty?

Sellers warranty.

RGB Tech?

They're not in stock yet. I've been emailing the dudes working there for a bit, and they are going to give me a call when they have stock (I'm ordering two).
Also, Play.com WERE advertising for £749.99 last night, but this morning it's jumped to £829.99

Digital Rev have different import duties,, I saw for most of there top price items they will pay any duty back you are charged

they offer HK warranty on my camera I bought and local Agent, so I guess I send it to him, he pays for all other returns

Though Personally If I have any problems with Camara, I will deal with Canon, and put pressure on them, they manufacture said item by UK law they are responsible what ever they try and say, with the fact I buy loads of Canon items, and lenses, I am sure they will make the effort.

I have Faith in Canon and their Products, I had faith that there would be no real Problems with the 40D, They learn't a lot from the MK 3 and its problems that I had a feeling they would solve before they released the 40D

Dollars not as strong now, If I recall he gets from states, maybe wrong, but Digital Rev for me was pretty good and quick (I did get in early though)

I'm not sure how much luck you'll have pressuring Canon if your camera goes tits up.
If they're not selling it directly here, they don't have to honour a UK warranty. And in all fairness, and without being rude to you here, if I was a retailer and you tried to get me to repair my product under a UK warranty when you bought it overseas, I'd tell you to go jump :)

Canon might have a good heart though :p

I would straight to Canon, not a retailer

heh well, the Law is the Law, who ever the Company is, you will be surprised at the amount of companies, especially the bigger ones that print out all these warranty's, details, but by UK law you are entitled to money back, or replacement for a year, it is how much you want to argue, and how far you want to take it.

but lets face it no point in arguing about this subject, only time will tell.

Makes no odds if you don't get a UK warranty - just buy a Mack International Warranty (check www.mackcam.com (external link)) and register your camera with Mack within 30 days of buying the camera.

You've got a very strange view of UK law ! Your contract is with the seller, not with the manufacturer. Canon will happily tell you to bugger off and take it back to the seller. Your problem if thats not in the UK, and/or you have no warranty.

Ipswich, UK
In the bag: Canon 20D, Canon 50mm f1.8 mk1, Canon 70-200L F4 IS (for sale), Kenko tubes, 430EX w/ stofen omnibounce

Neil is right, I can guarantee you that Canon UK will NOT under any circumstances honour warranties on bodies bought abroad. Lenses are not a problem as they have Worldwide Warranty, but bodies are different. Personally I would only buy a body from a UK supplier, it's just not worth the hassle for the sake of saving a few quid (IMHO).

Yep RGB tech are legit and good to deal with in my experience. I dealt with a guy called Graeme there.
