Meadow brown butterfly early morning

Hi I went out this morning it was a nice morning with a heavy dew
I only found one butterfly it was a bit damp and I did not have long before it started raining.
Glad I looked though, found this Meadow Brown waiting for the sun to come out.

I don't know if insects can actually feel wretched, but if they can then this one certainly would with the torn wings and dew. Nice shot Pete.

Nice crisp shot Pete, the dew drops adds a little extra interest to this shot I think.

Well that's a first- seen quite a few shots of bugs with dew on them but never a butterfly till now - lovely shot

Thanks Alby , there was not much light and I did not want to use ISO 1600 as he was low down I lay flat on the ground and supported the camera so I could use a fairly low shutter speed (60) to keep the ISO low, so I was pleased when it came out sharp . Im not that steady holding the camera I normally have to use a speed of 160 or 200 !

Would I have been better composition wise to have the space below rather than above the butterfly ?, I shot it that way as he was upside down

Aww, lovely photo, but you do have to feel sorry for the insects once the dew starts to really affect them. Nice find.
