that's great savings and benefits. You military guys always get good stuff

They do get good deals, however, it is so well deserved... Thank you to all who serve this great country. It is greatly appreciated.

Your support is much appreciated:D

I still hate Ritz though!

To all who are familiar with AAFES, have you ever tried to order a Canon product through the "Special Order Program"? I requested the 70-200 2.8 IS, 16-35, 17-40, and 180 3.5. The only one they can get is the 17-40 and the price is $880. I was emailing back and forth with customer service to try and get a price match w/ B&H or Adorama, but to no avail. They won't price match UNLESS you live in the NYC area near the store. I think I used too much "strong" language, so they stopped replying to my emails.

I just found out this morning that my 40D will be here Monday. I ordered on the 12th and Ritz shipped it on the 13th. Total price came to $1234.99.

Thanks again! I didn't really want to pay $1499 like most retailers but at that price and in stock I couldn't resist. If my camera has zero problems when it arrives then this is an awesome purchase.

It is working fine on my computer. I hate it but I have to check the status of shipping every two hours just to see if the shipping has changed locations.

Just wanted to give all of the military folks out there an update: I just checked Ritz through the AAFES on-line mall and they are no offering 10% off w/ free shipping and no tax through 31 Dec. And then...if you don't have a Star card, you can tack on an additional 10% off for all purchases made on the first day for using the card.

So let's do the math:

Canon 40D w/ 28-135: $1,499
-10% AAFES discount: -$149
-10% STAR card (if it's your 1st use): -$135
Final Price: $1,215

Then if you already have better glass, you can sell the 28-135 for $350 on eBay...netting you a 40D body for $875-$900. Not a bad deal!

Hope this helps,
Bryan
