Phil and Felix, these are very cool looking. Care to give us some details ? Camera/lens/exposure/HDR Software?

xti, 50mm 1.8 Lens, $20 tripod

f-stop 7.1

Took 5 pictures at -2,-1,0,1,2 exposures and merged with photomatix.

I didn't mess with the picture much with the program. This was what came out after tone mapping.

Pink Sky can be attributed to the picture being taken around sunset.

Just got my camera about a month ago and this is my favorite pic so far. I'm just glad that i proved to myself that you don't need the most expensive stuff to get a decent picture.

oops - sorry about that ...
equipment was my trusty ole (just got it 3 months ago) 40D
with my ever faithful 24-70 f2.8L (just got that a few weeks ago and has NOT left my camera, not even once)

shot in JPG (I took many shots that day and only have a 4 GB card - so not in RAW)
Focal Length 24 mm
at F8 ISO100
3 exposures -2, 0, +2

then merged and manipulated in Photomatix - with a few tweeks done in ZoomBrowser later ... (just unsharp mask 52%)

Thanks
Phil

QUOTED IMAGE

Just took this about an hour ago. Don't like the bush in the front or the power lines in the back but I couldn't really go and chop them down.

Here's about 20 minutes worth of Photoshop...

How's that? I personally think the bushes help sell the tank.

That looks awesome. Thanks for the help.

Did you just use the clone stamp and some blending?

Clone stamp, healing brush, paint brush....a little of this, a little of that. The power lines were easy, the poles were a little harder to deal with.

HI Phil like your shot. I think you would get less noise in the sky if you had taken in raw, no compression. I get nearly 300 shots on a 40D with a 4GB card in raw, so surprised that you feel you need to shoot in JPG.

cheers
Ali

Thanks Ali - I need all the help I can get on HDR - sorta went into it like a bull in a china shop - will (hopefully) visit that area again soon and try shoot them again in RAW (I didn't know it made a difference to the noise)
Regards
Phil

Like to think I am improving.

Town Hall in the 12 in Paris for a wedding. This was a handheld HDR as I didnt have the tripod. Sigma 17-70 at 70mm f2.8. Bracketed at -2,0,+2 in raw, photomatix, then Lightroom on the TIFF
1.

2. The wedding reception was at an old mill in Normandy. I had the tripod this time and my Sigma 10-20 16mm f11. Liveview is great for these tripod landscape shots
