WOW! That's awesome. I love the lights and the reflection on the far buildings.

At first I didn't really like HDR, but after a while, I got to really love it, so, I'm in the process of trying to learn more about it. I use PHOTOMATIXPRO, and am glad I chose that particular editing program because its SIMPLE TO USE, so for this very very old timer, I need all the help I can get.

I've been using a Canon T1i DSLR for all my HDR shots, but there's times I don't want to carry around this camera, so, I"m looking for a much lighter Point and Shoot that will get me almost similar results as my T1i has been doing. So, I'd appreciate any info on P&S cameras can can get me the good quality as my Canon T1i has been getting.

I"m attaching two HDR shots taken with my Canon T1i and with a Canon 18-200 IS lens.

I know my Canon SLR T1i takes very good HDR photos. But, the problem is that I don't want to tote it around all the time. I was hoping to keep an inexpensive camera in my car, most of the time and when I saw something I wanted to shoot, I 'd just shoot away, without having to use my much heavier DSLR.

That was the problem that was buggin me for some time. But, the tough question was WHICH POINT AND SHOOT that was capable to give me satisfactory HDR shots!...

Of course, the top of the line P&S's can do HDR very very good due to their better sensors?...(I think )....

So, being just an amateur, I simply" threw caution to the wind" and bought a used Canon S50 for $60.00. When it was new, it went for much much more money.

So, just on this day, today, I went out to try this very old Canon S50. I did try it out a few weeks ago, but I held the camera in my hand, and didn't use a tripod which I would normally do with my DSLR.

The HDR results were much much less than desirable handholding the S50 camera.
Okay, I'm submitting this shot I took today with this used $60 camera and edited it with PhotomatixPro which for me is the easiest editing program since "sliced bread"...

So, at first, I didn't really like those original HDR shots because I handheld, and that was the cause of that first failure. The tripod did make the difference.

Okay, I'm now a happy camper simply because I can now carry this inexpensive used Canon S50 with me/or in my car for those times when I"m not using my DSLR.

Now, this shot your'e seeing is not that bad at all in my humble opinion. Could it have been better? Yes, of course, but by someone else who really knows how to use PhotomatixPro, and not by me. Perhaps only time will allow me to improve.
But, I"m hooked on HDR and plan to have a ton of fun with it.

This is how I see it........HDR and Photomatixpro have allowed me to really improve on my original shot. am I wrong?.....
