So what will RAW shooters do with their CRW or CR2 pics in twenty years when nobody supports ancient file formats?
Something to think about, seems to me.

Hopefully TIFF, or at least PNG-24, will survive. Either that, or conversion software will be periodically available. I tend to archive the SDKs, so if push comes to shove, I'll write it myself.
More to the point, however, Adobe's decision to include RAW support for the 1D Mark III and not sRAW is curious (well, in my mind, it's rather shameful of Adobe). But it's probably because the EOS SDK (EDSDK 2.0.1) doesn't support the 40D or 1Ds Mark III yet.

In my memory, there was an SDK update shortly after the 1D3 was released (March-ish), and about three months after that, ARC 4.1 was released with 1D3 support (May-ish). From that, I think we can expect ARC 4.2 to support the 40D no sooner than two to three months after the the next SDK is released. Adobe might be waiting for both the Canon and Nikon SDKs since it's becoming trench warfare over DSLRs and there's a lot of churn in the market they're trying to support. Because 4 new camera have been announced in the last month, they're probably waiting on the updates so that they can release one version vice a long string of incremental additiona. It sucks for us, but it's better configuration control in the long run.
Fortunately the timing of my 1D3 purchase and the release of ACR 4.1 saved me from this problem. However, the best thing (I can think of) in the mean time is do the initial exposure/color/contract in DPP, then save it as a TIFF for post in Photoshop.

Do you really think JPEG is going to be around in twenty years? Now there is something to think about.. ; )
When I heard that question 15 years ago, I was hoping the answer would be "no." Hell, I'm still waiting for GIF to die...(if only PNG had animations...).
