I put in a preorder for this today. Is anyone with me or is the issue with the other new pro body causing others to wait?

I'm waiting to see how good the 5D replacement will be. When the 5D came out, I preferred it over the 1Ds Mark II. There could be a similar situation this time around.

If I sold all my current gear I might be able to afford the 1DsIII body.

I only wish. Some day.

Good luck to you though... I'm sure it will be a great camera. I wouldn't hesitate if I was able to get one.

What made you like the 5D better?

I pre ordered, then cancelled when I heard the ef 200 f2 was on it's way. Nice as it would be, I realised the lens would give me better results (no ISO 6400? what's that about?) than the Ds 3 at night games.

The 200 is still in r&d, It will be at least a year before you see it.
Pre-ordered and in two weeks it will be in my hands if I could believe chucks word in the press release.

In a constant state of flux.

I might get one in the next year. I'll wait until all the bugs are identified and corrected though.

Vicious rumours indicate spring(ish), and my budget is finite. I can't afford both, (ever) and need the lens more than a Ds body. The change left over would cover a 5D tho'...

I am with you.

But I will probably buy from B&H, and they do not offer pre-order yet...

Johan

EDIT: some typos...

Johan. More gear than I can list in one line... :-)

Given the problems with the 1Dmk3, I would consider anyone pre-ordering a 1DsMk3 very brave.
