I'm gonna be lucky to swing the camera so..... i guess my 17-55 and 1 gb cf are just gonna have to migrate to the 40d for the time being, I'll slap an old 256k and the 17-85 on the 20d till i can swing another CF and hopefully a 70-200, then I'll flip a coin to see which camera gets which lense.

Surely if you are going to spend $1300 on the camera a 2GB card for $25-$30 is feasible.

So far just picked up an additional 2gb of ultra II memory, and a 28-135mm IS (had no choice there cause Best Buy doesnt sell the body only ;))

In the near future I would like to pick up a grip (gonna wait on the bge2N to see the difference in price between it and the old grip before I decide on which one to get)

edit: Just wanted to confirm that all the xxD bodies do use the same battery, my 40D works fine with my stash of ebay batteries I have for the D60

bannedPermanent ban

EF 85mm f/1.8 + hood, 3021BPRO + 488RC2, Canon 1.4x extender.
BG-E2N and spare battery are next in line.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Great that means an additional 3 batteries and charger for me. Unless the chargers are the same? Hmm...same contact points? Anyway, 3 batteries still.

Maybe 24-105L to compliment my 40D!

I'll likely buy a second 40D and grip. That way I'll get a second charger and battery.

Other stuff:

1. A handful of faster 2GB CF cards (120x/133x or better).
2. More eBay BP511s (four for $24, incl shipping, last time I bought em).
3. Tokina 12-24/4, unless I hit the Lotto, then a 14/2.8L II.
4. Handstrap E1s for both cameras.
5. One precision matte focus screen to try out, another if I like it.
6. Kirk or Wimberley QR plates for the bottom of the BG-E2s.
7. A nice, fresh, new sensor cleaning kit.

"also where is a good place to find lens hoods?" On every single one of my lenses ;)

Online, try www.KEH.com (external link) and eBay. Also, check if there is a used camera store in your area. One in mine is the best source of small items like that. Finally, if you have a camera equip show or swap meet, that can be a good place.

Check all the usual places. B&H, Adorama, Beach, etc.

The charger, just like the batteries, is not the same as the XTi. Only the 10D, 20D, 30D, and 300D are the same as the 40D.

That's what I was afraid off!

EF-S 10-22mm. Needed my ultrawideangle back. 17-40 doesn't quite go as crazy wide on a 40D as it does on a 5D :)

Blue cheese and the finest French wine. Presented them on a silver platter. But the damn camera ignored it all. No more compliments for the ingrate!
