Following this post, night fell.

All images starting here (external link).

Geuzenpop website here (external link).

Images of another photographer here (external link). Quite different: B&W for one. More tele for another.

Lighting was better then last year, or to be precise: It had better potential. Too bad not all of that potential was used.

#1: "Malle Pietje and the Bimbo's". Only time I saw the drummer was after the gig, backstage. There was a serious amount of smoke...

#2: One of the few shots I got from "El Guapo Stuntteam". A serious lack of lighting.

#3: Audience liked it though:

Wow, fantatsic shots Rene. I really like how in 1,2 and 6 there is a strong colour in the image background. Great energy in #3, looks like people were having a blast.

I like the differing BG colors you get. Audience shot is cool, the bottom hand being cutoff doesn't bother me as much as the top one - still a great capture.
Nice looking set.

Really cool shots all of them. I guess the guy on vocals is the fan.

The guy on vocals was a replacement for nother band member IIRC. Was his last show with the band, which I didn't know.
Another photographer did capture the end of the show, with the entire band bowing and so. I'ld allready dumped the camera by then...

And I had even checked the dictonary as I typed, thinking: "This can't be right?"

But it was ;):

#3 belongs in the people section of the POTN book for 2008...
I like the action in #4, it's great... but in #4 we also have that bloody mike stand in the way... #5 is great, awesome action... #6 is awesome composition and very interesting light. While # 7 is just not "me"... I'd say she looks like, she's (lifting weights)doing "curls" with heavy dumbbells, and her neck veins and eyes are popping out... #8 is also very good and rounds out the set very nicely.... You've got some real good ones here Rene'... Cheers...

Agree on the mic stand.
Hadn't looked on #7 in that way, but now you mention it...
Ah well, well call it "intense" ;)

Like the flying hair though, and it was one of the few sharp images...

good shots. 4 & 8 are nice stage shots (for #4, i thought 'fan' meant whirring metal blades, not human). #6 is real nice too.
