I am looking for pictures at full and medium zoom. I am really considering this lens soon and would like some feedback. Thanks. I have also considered the 300mm prime, but I think this lens would work better for what I have in mind hence the post. Canon 5D, 20D,50mm1.4, Canon 24-70 2.8L, Canon 15mm fisheye, Canon 16-35 2.8L

Those are amazing pictures. I'm probably going to the Bronx Zoo tomorrow with my lowly 70-200 F2.8 IS and 1.4 teleconverter. Don't think I'll be able to zoom in that close though, unfortunately.

Given all the excitement of photographing such a glorious animal I totally forgot about the "retreat" part, let alone "hasty." No way to shoot without a fence in the way.
