I was standing there with my camera and saw a bee on a dandelion about 6 feet away from me.. I took this shot with no macro adapters or extension tubes.. Just a plain old 100-400 lens extended to 400mm

This guy is killing/eating King Eiders in rapid fashion and has put a pretty good dent on their numbers this past week. The light was horrid,but it's a fair image given circumstances.

Fair 'nough. The actual shot just misses tips of his ears. I figured I'd go for the bigger "In your face" crop. Do you think (without a full available set of ears) that this could work with a higher crop on top?

Man I love this lens. It is on my camera 95% of the time.

Not the best shots ,but considering these were taken under stadium lights and a pitch black stormy sky I think they come out pretty good.
