2 months! jeez that sounds slow

After another phone call this morning, they finally replied. The parts are actually in, but some internal mis-com that nobody@service centre knew about it.

I should get it back by Tuesday evening.

Guys - having had a 500L for rent for 10 days, I am in love with birding haha. Do you think a 400/5.6 will hold me over for a while until I've saved for a 500/4, or should I save up and make due with my 70-200 II + 2X extender?

Ugh - money sucks.

lol... that 500L is addicting eh?

400 5.6 is very nice for birding... i have both 400 5.6 and the 1-4 and despite lack of IS, i'm starting to like the prime more...

spent a couple of hours with it today... it was a fun lens for sure...

Haven't posted here for a while so here are a few from an airshow over the weekend. There were dust pumps everywhere on the weekend. I reckon I counted a least 10 or 15.

oh yeah, the dust pump sucks at focusing when it's not a bright sunny day...... ;) The inbuilt flash of the bug prob helped though!

Here is a shot of the full moon back in June of 2009 using my friend's lens on my 40D. This was shot handheld at 400mm, but it took several attempts as I didn't own a tripod at the time. The final image was cropped and unfortunately I have had to return the lens since then.
