It is not a dust pump. Please edit the thread title to remove the false slam. He doesn't say it IS a dust pump, but that it's KNOWN AS a dust pump. That's possibly correct. I agree that it isn't actually a dust pump. 5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

I dont like the movement restriction a tripod gives me. I like to rotate with my torso instead of a ballhead. Thanks. Please call me Sandra

I would never think to use a tripod or monopod with this lens. I don't have any problem handholding at 1/250sec and any slower than that leaves motion blur in whatever I'm taking a photo of so I don't ever have a need to go lower.

How about the Image quality, its about the same? I really can't tell the different between looking through this thread and the other thread in image quality, they both are superb. I know you lose .5 of a stop or what not with this lens but i dont think that would matter to much? As you can see in my sig, I have both lenses, though my 70-200 is without IS and I don't miss it with that lens at all. BoKo
