I mostly use it on fishing trips and I occasionally cover pheasant shoots. At both of these it is on about 50% of the time. I've used it on a 40D, a 7D and now on a 5DIII and it has been a great performer on all 3. Fishy action on Orkney... ![]() ![]() Col Crackin' Fish shot! I like the Nazca Booby too!

Ha-ha! I just assumed it was a local nick-name for a gannet! These are small, but the ones out there are far away.

It's the largest sea bird in our waters, and about three quarters of the world's population live around our shores, with Scotland a stronghold for them. There is a volcanic plug in the Firth of Forth estuary - where I live - and it has many thousands of gannets nesting on it - though the ones I have photographed have all been off the west coast of Scotland. Here are some more photos... Notice they have no external nostrils - an adaptation for diving into the water at 60 mph without driving water into your lungs! Their nostrils are inside their mouths! Col These are small, but the ones out there are far away.

There may be a difference in speed between push/pull and rotation that may change rate at which the air can enter. But it should still be the same amount of air. Charles
