My photo "Ballerina" on the cover of Metroparks Magazine (Toledo, OH area). Obviously this is a photo I took of the cover, the original picture is much nicer :)

Fantastic capture!

Just got my first couple of days' shots with the dust pump.
I am amazed how much better it is than the Bigma.
It just delivers. Though, of course, the 5D II focus is struggling in low light but that was expected.
Not the lense's fault.

Looks like a yellow headed blackbird. Common in wetlands.

Nice shots everyone.

Here in Reunion Island it is called the Bélier according to the chap who brought the first couples here.
A beautiful bird, a winner. Eats a lot of crops also.

Had my first "real" attempt at shooting the moon last night - it was one of those perfect, full moons that outshone even city lights, so I ended up taking the tripod and 100-400mm out on the patio for a try. I was happy to find that even though I'm in the middle of the city, the moon was bright enough that light pollution wasn't really an issue. Manual exposure, and I think manual focus although I tried some with auto-focus as well.

Mine will be here on Saturday. I can't wait to contribute, even if the first few captures will be from the Zoo!

I just installed the 5D III firmware update. AF with the 1.4x extender now working very well! So far, I'm really happy with it; it is working better than I had expected. It's way way way better than the ol' "tape-the-pins" trick. Anyone else try it yet? [BTW, the "leaked" firmware update can be found at Petapixel and other sites today.]

Looking forward to giving it a go very much. I never tried the tape on pins thing. Unfortunately I just put my 5DIII into the shop with my 24-105. The lens is needing a new set of blades and I decided to treat the camera to a pro sensor clean while I was there. Get them both back next Friday. Will install the firmware and give it a try then.

These are small, but the ones out there are far away.
