hi ya Toby i was using my 100 macro and was about 5 to 8 inches away. i'm pushing my luck with these since i'm allergic to bee sting :D

thanks Alby and jcpoulin for the comment. jc my setting was shutter 200, f10 and iso 100. didn't realize my aperature was at f10 must have hit the dial by accident usually i'm at f 11
